Izah Hankammer is looking for dance performers (f/x/m ; 2 professionals and 1 stagiaire) for the creation of her new performance TIMEAFTERTIME, as part of the emerging artist trajectory of Action Zoo Humain, inter:action.

In TIMEAFTERTIME, past and present patterns of labour come to life in a living machine, subjugating bodies, but also awakening them. Filipino-German artist Izah Hankammer investigates through this performance whether movements once etched into our muscle memory by domestic labor, agricultural work, and the imposed routines of colonial power, from death marches to constant strip searches, have truly disappeared. Or have they returned, disguised in the pace of productivity, in the rituals of service work, in the nervous ticks of bodies stretched thin to sustain the luxurious infrastructures of today? How do these labor patterns shape whose time is valued and whose body is motorised?

Filipino-German choreographer Izah Hankammer is looking for dance performers, who originate or have a personal connection to a country in the “Global South”. We are looking for curious and intelligent dance performers who have a strong musicality, unique stage presence, and do not shy away from performing with their voice, whether it be singing or delivering text. Performers must be based in BE or NL, or willing to relocate to Belgium for the duration of the process.

Two research weeks will be planned in Spring 2026 (exact dates to be arranged with performers). Rehearsals will take place in September to November 2026 and performances will mainly be in November to December 2026, followed by tour dates in 2027-2028. Selected artists will be invited to a two-day workshop audition in Brussels. There will be no cuts during the entire audition, and lunch will be provided on both days. Unfortunately, there will be no travel and accommodation reimbursement available. The deadline for submissions is the 31st of October 2025. Applicants will be informed of the selection latest by the 21st of November 2025.
